Morgans Motueka Finishing Hops - 12gm

Flavour & Aroma Profile
Motueka is a dual-purpose hop that can be used in all hop additions throughout the brewing process.

The Motueka hop has specific aroma descriptors that include distinctive fresh crushed citrus, mojito lime character, lively lemon and lime tones with background hints of tropical fruit. It also has fresh herbal notes (basil, rosemary) and hints of dried orchard fruit around the edges. Motueka was originally bred as a dual-purpose hop because of its balanced bitterness and New World “noble” type aroma.

The weight of oil to alpha integrates it fully with higher gravity types to balance both malt sweetness and body. Extremely versatile in the brewery.

How to Use (General Steeping Method):

Steep: Place the hop sachet in a cup of boiling water (about 1 cup).

Wait: Let it steep for 10 minutes to extract flavours and aromas.

Add: Pour the steeped liquid and the hop bag into your wort (unfermented beer) at the desired stage (late boil, whirlpool, or to the fermenter after peak fermentation).

When to Add:

Late Boil/Whirlpool: For flavour and some aroma.

Fermenter (Dry Hopping): For maximum aroma, after fermentation slows.

Finishing hops are essential for brewers wanting to build complex aromas and flavours, making homebrews more professional and vibrant.
