The FermZilla GEN3 (version 3.2 CLAMP NEW) – universal 27L PET fermenter for beer fermentation and maturation (natural carbonation).
- The FermZilla 27 liters is a light compact conical fermentation vessel that gives home brewers a high degree of control on the beer fermentation and maturation process.
- Thanks to the transparent side walls, made of high-quality polyethylene, you can see what is happening in the fermentation barrel at all times.
- In addition, this fermentation vessel has the great advantage that fermenting beer can be under pressure (max. 2.4 bar).
- This is necessary for both primary and secondary fermentation (beer maturation – the natural carbonation – under pressure) in the same fermenter.
- In comparation with previous model the FermZilla GEN3 CLAMP NEW is equipped with the Tri-Clamp connection to easy assembling and sanitizing.
- The Tri-Clamp (TC) is very hygienic connection system designed especially for the professional beverage industry.
- Used yeast can easily be removed from beer thanks to the yeast collection container that can be placed at the bottom of the fermenter.
- This allows to start the beer purification process immediately when the primary fermentation is done, without having to transfer beer to another pressure vessel.
- This prevents a lot of unnecessary work and reduces the risk of beer contamination with bacteria.
- This solution makes it possible to easy collection used yeast for reuse in the next brew cycle.
- In the FermZilla fermenter you can carbonite your clear beer and the beverage can then be dispensed directly through tap, removing the need to store your beer to bottles.
- You can pressurise the vessel up to 2.4 bar to allow them to carbonate beer and dispense it directly from the vessel like with a common beer keg.
- Simply attach the fermenter to a tap dispense draft system using a food hose.
- Beer served direct from the fermenter is fresh, bright and full-flavoured, completely without contact with oxygen.
- Transferring beer to kegs or other fermenter vessels is simple, sanitary and practically anaerobic (oxygen-free), when performed under pressure with using the included pressure lid.
- Simply attach an inert gas supply to the ball lock and push the beer out of the vessel with CO2, by way of the pressure lid’s floating dip ball.
- The floating dip ball allows only the clear beer to be picked up and transferred, leaving the sediment at the bottom of the fermenter behind.
What’s new the difference between the FermZilla Gen2 and Gen3?
1. Moulded Tri-Clamp ferrule on the body of the FermZilla tank
2. The Butterfly Valve (easily chemically sanitise) with the Tri-Clamp connection
3. The Yeast Collection Container with the Tri-Clamp connection
4. The easiest dismountable and cleanable construction – Simply release all pressure inside the vessel and detach the Tri-Clamp connections.

Technical parameters :
- fermenter body: high molecular length PET
- fermenter total volume: 27 litres (7.1 gal)
- frame: AISI 304 stainless frame
- pressure rated lid: AISI 304 stainless steel ball lock posts, glass reinforced nylon
- lid seal: nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR)
- working pressure: 2.4 bar (34.8 psi)
- burst pressure: above 7 bar
- test pressure: 5 bar
Temperature working range:
- When the tank is not under pressure, do not expose to liquids above 55°C (131°F)
- When the tank is under pressure, do not expose to any temperatures above 35°C (95°F)
- *Please note that the maximal allowed temperature rating for the FermZilla tank is lower when using it under pressure.
- When not under pressure, it is perfectly safe to transfer wort into the tank at temperature below 55°C (131°F) or to use hot liquids below this temp for cleaning.
- When the tank is under pressure, make sure to keep your fermentation temperature below 35°C (95°F) and keep the fermenter in an environment which temperature is below 35°C (95°F) ambient.
- This is especially important when fermenting with on top fermenting yeast.
- These strains are known to ferment hot if no temperature control is being used.
- Exceeding the temperature rating may compromise a structure the tank, leading to a shorter life span or sudden failure to maintain pressure.
- Even with proper use, we recommend replacing the tank every two years.
Quick pressure test (before each use):
- Please note that before use the FermZilla tank under pressure, you should always perform a pressure check with water to ensure all connections are leak proof.
- To do this, fill your FermZilla up with water, apply at least 1 bar (15 psi) pressure, and check for leaks around all caps and threads.
Periodical pressure shock test (1-2 times a year):
- If you use the FermZilla to ferment under pressure, or you use CO2 to pressure transfer of beer from the tank or to force carbonate your finished beer, it is very important that you conduct semi-annual inspections the integrity of your tank.
- Even with perfect care, the FermZilla tank may show signs of wear from repeating pressure stress over time.
- We recommend visually inspecting your tank for stress creases or other signs of wear once or twice a year.
- A pressure shock hydro test should be conducted every two years, even if no signs of wear are found.
The process is simple:
- Fill the FermZilla tank to the brim with water
- Replace the Red pressure relief valve (rated to 2.7 bar / 35 psi) with a Green pressure relief rated to 4.5 bar or higher
- Pressurize the tank to 4 bar (58 psi)
- Check for leaks, then replace the Red pressure relief valve when finished
- If leaks or potential points of failure are found, replace the tank before you continue using pressure with your FermZilla.
- Dimensions :
- Height in the stand – 74.93 cm (29.5″)
- Height w/ Airlock – 85.60 cm (33.7″)
- Tank diameter – 35.31 cm (13.9″)
- Diameter in the stand – 38.86 cm (15.3″)
